Thermal Imaging
Despite what you might have seen on television or in movies, thermographic imaging cameras can’t see behind walls. Instead, they detect temperature variations related to heat and moisture along building surfaces.
Thermography differences in surface temperature can detect faults in various building systems, like the insulation of a home, the plumbing system or the electrical system.
The thermal imaging camera detect temperature differences and patterns on a wall, a wet area and the surrounding dry areas can indicate the presence of moisture that would not be visible during a home inspection without a thermal imaging camera. Findings like these could be an indication of previous water issues or a slow leak that should be further investigated.
