WHO IS A HOLMES APPROVED INSPECTOR?
Qualified, experienced inspectors are the backbone of Mike Holmes Inspections, and we want to work with leading professionals in the field.
All Holmes Approved Inspectors must:
- Have a background in construction
- Pass detailed background searches, including reference checks
- Proof of training in Working from Heights / Fall Protection and Ladder Safety
- Possess all necessary tools & equipment to perform duties
- Carry Commercial General Liability and Professional Liability Insurance
- Acquire Thermography Certification
- Be members of accredited associations (i.e. CAHPI, ASHI, NACHI)
- Pass Mike Holmes Inspections technical assessment tests
OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
STEP 1: INITIAL INTERVIEW
STEP 2: DOCUMENTATION SUBMISSION
- Resume
- License and other professional credentials
- Level I Thermography Certification, compliant with ASNT standards
- Reference check
- Criminal background check
- Two sample reports
- Articles of incorporation
STEP 3: PROOF OF INSURANCE
- Commercial Liability ($2 million per occurrence, $5 million aggregate)
- Professional Liability ($1.5 million per occurrence, $3 million aggregate)
- Auto Insurance ($1 million)
- Workplace Safety & Insurance
STEP 4: TEST INSPECTION
Assessment of your performance as an inspector.
STEP 5: REVIEW OF INSPECTION REPORT
Assessment of inspection documentation.
STEP 6: CONTRACT AGREEMENT
STEP 7: SHADOW INSPECTION
Shadow Lead Inspector during a field inspection.
STEP 8: FINAL ASSESSMENT
